Lovegra 100 is a tablet that contains 100mg of the active ingredient Sildenafil citrate. This drug is more commonly known as the “female Viagra” because it is specifically formulated as a sexual enhancer for women. Just like any other Sildenafil tablets, it increases the blood flow to the vaginal area. According to studies, this increase in blood flow helps increase sexual desire by women during sexual activity. However, the mechanism on how it specifically works is not yet fully established.

A starting dose of 50mg Lovegra (half tablet) taken orally about an hour before sexual activity is recommended.The dose may be adjusted, either decreased to 25mg or increased to 100mg, depending on efficacy and tolerability per individual. Consult a health care provider prior to making dose adjustments.
The maximum dose of Lovegra is 100mg per day. It is important to note not to exceed the maximum daily dose. The effect will not increase if the dose is doubled.
Contraindications
Individuals allergic to Lovegra, its active ingredient Sildenafil and all its inactive ingredients, must not take this medication.Lovegra is contraindicated to those with heart problems. This drug is also contraindicated to those who take nitrates in any of its form, and those taking Riociguat as it may increase the hypotensive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Side effects
The common side effects Lovegra usually occur in only 2% of individuals taking this medication. These are, but not limited to the following:
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Diarrhea
- Dyspepsia
- Nasal congestion
- Flushing (redness, warmth)
- Urinary tract infection
- Respiratory tract infection
- Rash
- Back pain or muscle pain
- Abnormal vision (blurred or change in color vision)
Rare side effects that occur in less than 2% of individuals taking Lovegra include, but not limited to:
- Photosensitivity reaction
- Allergic reaction
- Face edema
- Cardiovascular side effects like cardiac arrest, heart failure, myocardial ischemia
- Digestive side effects like vomiting, colitis, dry mouth, gastritis
- Anemia and leukopenia
- Hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia
- Arthritis
- Tremor
- Vertigo
- Insomnia
Seek immediate medical help if an allergic reaction to Lovegra occurs characterized by difficulty in breathing, hives, swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat.
Taking of Lovegra must be stopped and seek medical attention right away if sudden vision loss in one or both eyes occurs. This may be a sign of a condition called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) associated with the use of PDE5 inhibitors such as Sildenafil.
Taking of this drug must also be stopped and seek urgent medical help if sudden hearing loss or decrease in hearing occur.

Warnings and Precautions
Individuals not advisable to perform sexual activity should not take Lovegra. Caution is advised to individuals taking any antihypertensive drugs such as alpha-blockers for it may potentiate the hypotensive effects.
Lovegra and Alcohol
Taking Lovegra with alcohol may cause undesirable effects as both can cause lowering of blood pressure.
Lovegra during Pregnancy and Nursing
Lovegra is under US FDA Category B which means this drug is not recommended for use by pregnant women. There is no evidence of fetal risk in animal studies but there are not enough studies done in pregnant womrn.
Lovegra should not be used by nursing mothers because there are no data about its secretion into human milk.
